In Mainz-Kastel (Germany), the German champagne cellar Henkell chose for the renovation of their 14000 sqm warehouse roof: the white reflective bituminous membrane DERBIBRITE NT. The membrane reflects up to 80% of the sun rays, which prevents that the heat penetrates inside the building. It decreases the need to turn on the air conditioning and therefore results in a considerable energy savings.

“Our goal was to replace the PVC foil by a durable and recyclable product”, says Marcus Wiessner, Facility Manager at Henkell & Söhnlein. Not only the durability was important: “We chose Derbigum as supplier, as we received from them, the manufacturer, not only a guarantee of 15 years on the product, but also on the application.”
